Saltbush is a unique cultural publication that captures and shares original stories from the diverse communities of southern regional New South Wales. Our aim is to connect the many towns and areas that make up the Shoalhaven, Eurobodalla, Queanbeyan-Palerang and Bega Valley LGA’s through a curated collection of local news, community interest stories, and insightful perspectives.
Our publication seeks to bring attention to the important and inspiring stories that might otherwise remain untold or underrepresented. By focusing on community, Saltbush reflects and responds to the unique voices, challenges and opportunities that exist in the South Coast and surrounding areas of regional NSW.
Inspired by essay and analysis-driven titles like Monocle, The New Yorker, Matters, and Broadsheet, as well as area-specific titles like Gippslandia, and digital platforms like Medium, Vox, and The Drum, Saltbush contributes to the region’s much needed re-connection with new ways of information sharing and refreshed coverage from a local context.
We challenge the increasingly siloed life and media landscape across the region, by igniting idea and story-sharing among diverse audiences, opinions, backgrounds, and interests that populate the area. Saltbush is committed to fostering connection and promoting a sense of community across the Southern Regional NSW region.
